My name is Christina Cobb; I am an artist and native Charlottean. I am a full time Art Educator in the public school system, a member of the ArtPop Street Gallery Board of Directors and passionate about creating.
Generally with my work, I use acrylic paints but I also like to create effects with spray paint, graphite, collage and other mixed media.
The moment pen or brush engages with the surface, the conversation of The Creator and my heart begin there chattering until there is a peace within my soul, a resolution to move on, a celebration of the present or simply a release of what I’ve held too tightly. This journey of word, line, mark making, color and layering makes its way from my soul and its experience to the spiritual experience in all of us. I am a connector at the soul level. Art opens the gates for those conversations that started within and with My Maker to continue with the people that become my community and my family; the viewers and thus connection. My pieces always reflect on how I believe we are intended to be; without burden and where I find myself at the completion of a piece. I create to give the audience a vision and feeling of lightness and freedom. The elements should come to a sum total of liberation in the viewing moment with the hope you carry that feeling with you.
My goal is that hope is felt despite the twists and turns we all face during life’s journey.
